Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna is The Outstanding Alumni of Science for Government and Public Service in University of Santo Tomas-College of Science’s TOAST Awards 2023.
The awarding ceremony, which also features the awardees from 2020, 2021, and 2022, was held at the Buenaventura Garcia Paredes, O.P. Building (BGPOP) of UST.
Lacuna is a Bachelor of Science in Biology alumna from Batch 1987.
“It is embedded in our university motto, ‘Veritas in Caritate,’ which means Truth in Charity.”
In her acceptance speech, the lady mayor recognized her experiences in the prestigious university, which honed her compassion for Manileños.
“You have instilled in me the values of being good, loving, compassionate, generous, and concerned to others,”
“I would say that UST has influenced me to consider public service later on. It is embedded in our university motto, ‘Veritas in Caritate,’ which means Truth in Charity,” she said.
