TRANSPORT COOP LAUNCH E-JEEPNEYS IN BACOLOD CITY

The E-Future Motors Philippines, Inc., together with the Cebu People’s Multi-Purpose (People’s Jeep), launched electric jeepneys at the Bacolod City Government Center Lobby.

Present were E-Future CEO Bongkyun Shin, Cebu People’s Multi-Purpose People’s Jeep President Michael Abella, and Assistant City Director Allyn Luv Dignadice.

10 electric jeepneys (e-jeepneys) were launched to ply the route of Fortune Towne going to SM City Bacolod.

The e-jeepneys are expected to start plying the routes by October 14.

“Some 35 units of e-jeepneys will be arriving between October and November.”

Bacolod Mayor Albee Benitez had earlier announced that some 35 units of e-jeepneys will be arriving between October and November.

It is also a plan of the city government to set up charging stations for e-vehicles.

Benitez said a technical working group (TWG) will determine the locations of the charging stations.

“After the TWG decides on it, the city government will initiate setting up the charging stations.”

“We may be the first city in the Philippines to be able to convert our public transportation to e-vehicles,” he added.
