“The government, alone, cannot promote the Philippines as a tourist destination. It needs the support of its citizens.”
This according to Xander Sigua, Executive Director of Tourism Educators And Movers Philippines (TEAM Philippines), at the sidelines of the meeting of the League of Tourism Students of the Philippines (LTSP).
“We need to promote a culture of tourism, or what we fondly call culturism, in order to provide the best experience possible not only for foreign tourists but for domestic tourists as well,” said Sigua, the founding President of the LTSP during his student days.

“There is hope for the Philippines, and it lies on each and every Filipino, contributing in their own little way to show the world how beautiful our land and people are. So, I repeat, our country needs tourism-oriented citizens to promote our tourism industry,” concluded Sigua.
