The provincial government of Sorsogon, under the leadership of Governor Boboy Hamor, has demonstrated its commitment to peace and reconciliation by providing financial assistance to two high-ranking members of the New People’s Army (NPA) who recently surrendered to the authorities.
In a ceremony held at the Governor’s Hall, Provincial Administrator Franco Eric Ravanilla represented Governor Hamor in presenting the financial aid.
A check amounting to P100,000 was turned over to each of the surrenderees, in addition to a personal contribution of P50,000 pesos each from Gov. Hamor.

The financial assistance aims to support their reintegration into society and provide them with the necessary resources to start anew.
In his message, Ravanilla expressed his gratitude to the two individuals who made the courageous decision to surrender.
He commended their bravery and emphasized the provincial government’s commitment to supporting them in their transition towards a peaceful and productive life.

The financial assistance provided by the provincial government is part of its broader efforts to promote peace and development in Sorsogon. In addition to the financial aid, the surrenderees also turned over four M16 rifles to the government,
