SAMAR NAT’L SCHOOL GETS RECYCLED PLASTIC CHAIRS

The Samar National School received a total of 240 monobloc chairs from the Provincial Government of Samar at the Samar National School Covered Court, Catbalogan City.

Governor Sharee Ann Tan expressed her enthusiasm about the provincial government’s efforts to address the critical resource needs of educational institutions, ensuring a high-quality learning environment.

“These chairs are then donated to educational institutions that really need them.”

“Through our plastic recycling facility, we are able to transform plastic waste into functional chairs. These chairs are then donated to educational institutions that really need them,” Tan explained.

“It’s like hitting two birds with one stone.”

“It’s like hitting two birds with one stone. We want to care for the environment and eradicate our problem with garbage, and at the same time, generate produce that will be utilized by the students and the schools who are in need of the chairs,” the lady governor added.

Along with these efforts, the  Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Management Office (PENRMO) encourages everyone to donate soft plastics, such as sachet packaging, and food and candy wrappers, to support the continued production of these monobloc chairs.

To date, the province, through the PENRMO, already produced 580 monobloc chairs, widely distributed in the cities and municipalities under the provincial government.
