The Provincial Government of Samar has brought its medical services closer to its constituents, through its latest healthcare program, the Ospital Sa Barangay (OSB).
Governor Sharee Ann Tan explained the conception of this project.
“I have heard their plight, that is why we have strategized this program where our medical experts provide the much-needed health care of our fellow Samarnons.”
“Upon visiting our communities, especially in the remote areas, I have seen and heard how our constituents faced challenges in accessing medical services, despite it being free. I have heard their plight, that is why we have strategized this program where our medical experts provide the much-needed health care of our fellow Samarnons,” Tan said.
“Just like everybody else, it is my dream that every Samarnon is in good health and better living conditions through the services provided by the provincial government,” the lady governor added.
Through OSB, medical teams visit barangays and bring services normally seen at the hospitals or clinics like the laboratory tests, ultrasound, and x-ray.
Through OSB, medical teams visit barangays, where it does not only bring the regular health care services of a Medical Mission that we are accustomed to, but also bring services normally seen at the hospitals or clinics like the laboratory tests, ultrasound, and x-ray.
The usual consultation is conducted by the medical experts, and patients are provided with the necessary medicines and supplements.
A referral system has likewise been formulated, whereby patients needing additional medical attention are referred to the Samar Provincial Hospital for appropriate action.
The provincial government also partnered with One Life, whereby a digital healthcare system was created, thus making diagnostics and health data available.
Through which, the province can get a glimpse of the general health status of Samarnons, thereby providing an avenue to come up with programs that would best cater the needs of the people.
The total number of patients served is already at 34, 987.
The medical teams will continue to visit barangays of the different municipalities and cities of the province, relentlessly serving the people of Samar.
