The City of Sagay unveiled what can be considered the most modern local government unit (LGU)-owned bus terminal in Negros Occidental.
Situated in Barangay Poblacion II, the P156.684 million Sagay City Public Bus Terminal comprises a two-story glass building and a parking space designed by Architect Wendel Duran.
“We constructed this to afford our residents, tourists, and travelers a world-class bus terminal for safe and convenient travel,” said Mayor Alfredo Marañon III, who led the inauguration as part of the city’s 26th Charter Anniversary rites, before he completes his third and final term on June 30.
The construction of the public transport terminal was by the city’s development fund amounting to P25.684 million and a P131 million term loan from the Land Bank of the Philippines.
The state-of-the-art structure can accommodate up to 18 buses.
