RED CROSS GIVES P42M CASH AID TO VISAYAS – GORDON

In his visit to the province of Cebu, Gordon reiterated that the Red Cross is not a hand-out organization and those beneficiaries of the cash aid are greatly encouraged to invest in livelihood projects.

Funded by the American Red Cross, the total target of the MPCG program in the Cebu province is 3000 families in 15 barangays, with 500 families in four barangays from Lapu-Lapu – Cordova.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the PRC has been providing the most vulnerable with its cash aid program.

PRC recently gave cash grants to vulnerable families and affected individuals in Manila, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Antipolo, and Cainta.

The PRC, in partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), recently extended its MPCG to vulnerable families and affected individuals in Manila, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Antipolo, and Cainta among other areas affected by the pandemic.

During his Cebu visit, the veteran legislator met with Mr. Rosendo Lacaba, a blind man from Liloan, Cebu, who called Gordon for assistance during the pandemic and was surprised that the senator personally answered his phone call. Lacaba’s family was given food assistance through the Philippine Red Cross Cebu City Chapter.
