The QCitizen Homes Republic Residences is a project of the Quezon City government, as part of the city government’s contribution to the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program of the Marcos Administration.
Marcos’ housing program aims to build one million housing units per year in various parts of the country in the next six years to address the 6.5 million housing backlog in the country.
Under the agreement, the Quezon City government will be responsible for identifying a suitable site for the housing project exclusively for public school teachers and non-teaching personnel, as well as facilitating the processing of all requirements for its full implementation.
The Deped is tasked to facilitate the endorsement of public school teachers and non-teaching personnel who are residents of Quezon City, and assist the LGU in preparing the necessary documents and in securing loan approval of the intended beneficiaries.
In her speech, Belmonte expressed gratitude to Vice President Duterte for recognizing the needs of public school teachers “by granting them something that will reinforce their drive to teach the youth who are the future of our country.”
“Thank you, former President Macapagal-Arroyo for declaring certain portions of the NGC site open for disposition to bona fide residents of Quezon City through socialized housing projects that will benefit over 45,000 qualified households.”
