PRC Chairman and CEO Dick Gordon received the donations from the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Philippines Ahmed Saad Al Hamidi in a turnover ceremony at the PRC National Headquarters, in Mandaluyong City recently.
The Qatar Fund for Development supported the procurement of the emergency equipment.
The water tanker and food truck are part of the humanitarian aid to the people affected by Tropical Cyclone Paeng in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, and Maguindanao.
The water tanker and food truck are part of the humanitarian aid to the people affected by Tropical Cyclone Paeng (international name: Nalgae) in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, and Maguindanao, where 1,200 families have already received non-food items and cash assistance as livelihood support.
QRCS previously donated two water tankers to the PRC. Overall, QRCS has donated more than P305 million to various PRC disaster responses since 2012.
“Qatar is our friend — not because they give us money, but because we have shared vision, shared values, shared struggles, and shared triumphs,” Gordon said of the relationship between the Philippines and Qatar.
Ambassador Al Hamidi also said that the Philippines and Qatar have a very good relationship, and that he trusts Chairman Gordon and the Philippine Red Cross.
