The House of Representative adjourned on Wednesday passing all priority legislative measures of the 19th Congress, including Resolution of Both Houses No. 7 and House Bill (HB) 9710, revoking the legislative franchise of Swara Sug Media Corporation, operating as Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI).
In his adjournment speech, Speaker Martin Romualdez commended the House’s perseverance, resulting to the passage of all 17 State of the Nation Address (SONA) priority measures, three of which have already been enacted into law, one being deliberated in a bicameral conference, and 13 sent to the Senate for action.
Moreover, 56 out of 59 Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) priority items were approved on third and final reading, with 14 bills also signed into law.

He thanked the House leaders, House secretariat officials and personnel, as well as congressional staff for the achievement.

Your strategic leadership, unwavering commitment, and seamless support have been indispensable to our collective achievements. Your meticulous efforts ensure the wheels of progress turn smoothly and I am profoundly grateful,” Romualdez added.
He then highlighted their oversight functions through the conduct of multiple legislative inquiries during the session. He said that these investigations served as the fundamental basis for ensuring accountability and transparency within our government.
“The House, working overtime, double time, did our homework, finished our assignment, passing 100 percent all the priority legislative measures.”
Majority Leader Mannix Dalipe moved for the adjournment of session until April 29 after the “House, working overtime, double time, did our homework, finished our assignment, passing 100 percent all the priority legislative measures”.
Earlier, the House of Representatives voted on the Resolution of Both Houses No. 7 on third and final reading. RBH 7 received 289 affirmative votes, seven negative votes and two abstentions.
RBH 7 proposes to amend Articles XII, XIV and XVI of the 1987 Constitution, pertaining to the public service sector, access to educational institutions and advertising industry.
HB 9710, the measure revoking the legislative franchise granted to Swara Sug Media Corporation, received 248 affirmative votes, four negative votes and four abstentions.
