Two Philippine Red Cross (PRC) food trucks recently arrived in Butuan City as part of the overwhelming response of the humanitarian organization to the flooding and landslide in Mindanao.
PRC Chairman and CEO Dick Gordon directed the immediate deployment of the two food trucks that left Cebu for Agusan del Sur.
“We sent the two food trucks from Cebu immediately to provide additional hot meals to those affected by the situation in Mindanao,” Gordon said.
“The PRC is continuously monitoring the situation in Mindanao.”

PRC Cagayan de Oro Regional Warehouse has released 520 pieces of collapsible 20-liter jerry cans to PRC Davao del Norte Chapter; 1,000 pieces of collapsible 20-liter jerry cans to Davao de Oro Chapter; and another 1,000 pieces of 20-liter collapsible jerry cans to Agusan del Norte to support communities affected by the shearline trough of low pressure area (LPA). These were loaded in a six-wheeler closed truck driven by John Paul Aclao with truck helper Jinmark Balacuit.
Meanwhile, the two food trucks in Davao de Oro marked their third day of distribution of hot meals to 1,128 individuals while the water tanker distributed 10,000 liters of water at Barangay Elizalde to 248 individuals on its fourth day of operation.
