Due to massive flooding triggered by heavy rainfall in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) that started on July 9, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) responded to flood-affected communities.
PRC, through its Lanao del Sur-Marawi Chapter, provided 3-day rations of food packs to 1,017 vulnerable families in the Municipalities of Balabagan, Kapatagan, and Marogong in Lanao del Sur.
“Red alert was raised over BARMM because of severe flooding that affected over 90 thousand families,” PRC Chairman and CEO Dick Gordon said.
“Please know that the Philippine Red Cross is here to help you rise above your circumstances.”
“Please know that the Philippine Red Cross is here to help you rise above your circumstances. Our bayanihan spirit is greater than the flood,” Gordon stressed.
“The resilience of the people in BARMM, coupled with our collective efforts, will ensure that no one is left behind.”
PRC Secretary-General Dr. Gwen Pang added, “In times of crisis, we stand united with the communities we serve. The resilience of the people in BARMM, coupled with our collective efforts, will ensure that no one is left behind.”
