The Asia Harm Reduction Forum is back in a virtual setting to gather a wider audience of health practitioners, academics, and consumer advocates to join the tobacco harm reduction discussions on June 28, 2021.
Organized from the Philippines, this year’s lineup of speakers features experts from around the globe to lead the exchanges on public health policies and scientific studies focusing on alternative nicotine delivery systems.
Now on its fourth edition, AHRF is a recurring event that provides an international avenue for sharing research findings, product developments, and pragmatic solutions on tobacco harm reduction.
Prof. Dr. Achmad Syawqie Yazid, the founder of Indonesian Public Health Observer Foundation, will start the session by introducing the concept of harm reduction and paradigms through which they may be implemented.
He will be joined by Dr. Joe Kosterich, a renowned doctor and medical consultant, who will discuss tobacco control approaches in Australia and New Zealand; David Sweanor, a law and health policy expert, who will talk on effective harm reduction strategies in Japan and Korea; and Asa Saligupta, Director of the ENDs Cigarette Smoke Thailand (ECST), who will focus on the role of consumers in advancing better market regulation and harm reduction initiatives in Thailand.
The list of speakers also includes Dr. Lorenzo Mata, Jr., President of Quit For Good; Johan Sumantri, Chairman of Aliansi Vaper Indonesia; and Clive Bates, Director of Counterfactual Consulting Limited.
