The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office gave away 1,000 food packs to indigent residents of Parañaque City recently.
“Regular po kaming nagiikot sa mga komunidad sa bansa upang kahit paano’y makatulong sa mga pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan,” PCSO Chairman Junie E. Cua said.
The PCSO allotted P8,997,325.00 for various beneficiaries under its CSR initiatives last year. Its activities included food pack distribution, provision of hygiene kits, medical equipment, and mobility devices to the elderly, among others.
Cua was joined in the activity, which was held in the Parañaque Sports Complex on June 14, by Parañaque Mayor Eric Olivarez, Rep. Gus Tambunting, and other officials of the agency and local government.
According to the Chairman, the Community Outreach Program is consistent with the PCSO’s mandate to provide charitable and social services to the poor and vulnerable sectors in the country.
“Bahagi po ito ng aming Rear, Assist, Inspire, Support and Enhance o RAISE Program sa ilalim ng Corporate Social Responsibility projects ng ahensya,” Cua said.
He added that over the years, the PCSO has consistently helped depressed communities especially during times of disaster.
“Sa pamamagitan nitong programang ito, nais maipadama ng pamahalaan under the leadership of our President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. ang pagmamahal at pagkalinga sa ating mga kababayan,” Cua also said.
“Asahan po ninyo na patuloy nating isasagawa ang Community Outreach Program para mas marami pang kababayan natin ang matulungan,” Cua added.
