PCSO CHAIRMAN CUA RECEIVES RED CROSS SERVICE AWARD

Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office Chairman Junie E. Cua received the Philippine Red Cross’ (PRC) Doña Aurora Aragon Award on Tuesday, April 18.

Cua was conferred the award during the PRC’s 33rd Biennial Convention, which was held in Manila.

“I am truly humbled by this recognition.

According to PRC, the award is due to his “outstanding contribution to the efforts of the Quirino Chapter that is instrumental in the delivery of life-saving services in communities deeply affected by disaster and other emergencies.”

“I am truly humbled by this recognition.

“This award gives me renewed vigor to tackle my new duties, which have a much greater scope. But our people can rest assured that I will continue to give my best efforts in serving them,” he added.

Cua also vowed that he would strive to have the same impact as PCSO chair.

The agency continues to look for ways so that more Filipinos could benefit from its programs, he said.

“We want to make the PCSO synonymous not just to charity but also to service and reliability.

The Doña Aurora Aragon Award is named after the PRC’s first chairperson, Aurora Aragon Quezon.

The medal is awarded only to volunteers who have proven their commitment to the Red Cross’ cause.

The PRC recently marked its 75th founding anniversary.
