Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson and Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a ₱270-million, 50-bed hospital in Brgy. Tinampa-an, Cadiz City.
The upcoming Cadiz City Medical Center (CCMC) will feature modern facilities, including minor operating rooms, an emergency room, medical wards, a pharmacy, a clinical laboratory, and isolation rooms, among others.
The CCMC will become the city’s second hospital, alongside the provincial government-run Cadiz District Hospital.

Escalante highlighted the importance of the hospital, citing Cadiz City’s rapid growth and emphasizing its role in addressing the community’s increasing healthcare demands.
Lacson stated that the Cadiz City Medical Center represents more than just a physical structure—it symbolizes the government’s dedication to providing medical facilities and healthcare services that align with the evolving needs of the people.
The governor commended the mayor and Cadiz City officials for spearheading the significant project.
“I assure the Provincial Government’s continued support to medical professionals.”
He also expressed gratitude to Negros Occidental 2nd District Representative Thirdy Marañon for his unwavering support of the programs initiated by local government units in the 2nd District.
Lacson also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, and healthcare providers, assuring them of the Provincial Government’s continued support.
He recognized the challenges they face and committed to empowering them in their vital roles within the hospital.
