OLD BACOLOD CITY HALL REHABILITATION STARTS

The city government of Bacolod, in collaboration with ESJ & Sons Construction, held a blessing and groundbreaking ceremony for the rehabilitation of the Old City Hall Building located at the corner of Araneta-Luzuriaga Streets in Bacolod City.

The project entails the design and construction of a four-storey building with a basement, adhering to the National Building Code of the Philippines and other accepted design standards for government office centers.

The estimated cost of the project is P222 million, funded by the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).

“The rehabilitation will create a modern, efficient and inclusive hub that will serve the needs of every Bacolod resident for generations to come.”

During the program, Mayor Albee Benitez emphasized that the rehabilitation or improvement concept will embrace Bacolod’s history and use new technology to create a modern, efficient and inclusive hub that will serve the needs of every Bacolod resident for generations to come.

Attendees included Bacolod City Councilors, City Administrator Dr. Lucille Gelvolea, Development Bank of the Philippines, National Historical Commission – Negros Occidental, City Engineer’s Office, department heads, and barangay officials.

Rev. Gregory Narciso Gayares III blessed the land where the new city hall will stand.
