The chairman of the House committee on labor and employment lauded the approval on third and final reading of a bill that allows individuals to use their acquired occupational knowledge, experience, and achievements as credits for their tertiary education units.
“The institutionalization of the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) through House Bill No. 9015 will help employees who have encountered roadblocks in their careers due to their lack of a college degree. The measure was approved overwhelmingly this week, with 251 lawmakers voting for its passage.

To be eligible, employees must also be at least 23 years old and must present a certification of having passed the Accreditation and Equivalency Assessment conducted by the Department of Education.
They will also be required to submit their employment certificates, birth certificate, resume, job description signed by their employer, and transcript of records.
“Umaasa tayong sa lalong madaling panahon ay tuluyan nang maisabatas ang panukalang ito,” Nograles said.
The lawmaker also urged employees to support their subordinates who express their desire to avail of the ETEEAP.
“Suportahan po natin ang mga empleyado na nais magtapos ng kanilang pagaaral dahil ang organisasyon din po ang makikinabang. Your employees will be more confident not only from attaining their degree but also from the infusion of fresh knowledge which they will be eager to use for the welfare of their organization,” Nograles said.
“It’s a win-win situation for all concerned,” he added.
