There is no movement in the prices of Pinoy Tasty and Pinoy Pandesal until December this year, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez said.
Lopez said the price of Pinoy Tasty remains at PHP35 per loaf, while Pinoy Pandesal at PHP21.50 per 10-piece pack.
The prices of these bread products manufactured by the Philippine Baking Group (Philbaking) are stable since April 2016, Lopez said.
“To help the government, they won’t increase [prices] until December,” the DTI head added.
“To help the government, the Philippine Baking Group (Philbaking) won’t increase prices until December.”
Pinoy Tasty and Pinoy Pandesal are cheaper compared to other brands since these are subsidized by bakers and flour millers. Pinoy Tasty and Pinoy Pandesal are also products of a partnership between the DTI and Philbaking. Pinoy Tasty was launched in 2010.
Philbaking is composed of Gardenia Philippines, Creative Bakers, Uncle George, Marby, MLM Fortune Bakeshop, French Bakers, Sunmaru, Julies, and community bakeries under the Filipino-Chinese Bakery Association Inc. and the Philippine Federation of Bakeries Association Inc.
