NEW SINILOAN SPORTS COMPLEX GROUNDBREAKING LAUDED

Senator Bong Go extended his warm congratulations for the successful groundbreaking of a new sports complex in Siniloan, Laguna.

Go was set to personally attend the event but had to cancel due to the inclement weather in the area. The legislator was also scheduled to attend the fiesta celebrations in the town of Famy in Laguna.

In his message, the chair of the Senate Committee on Sports cited that the completion of the sports facility is just one of the government’s ways of bringing the residents together to strengthen the community while promoting grassroots sports development.

“Malaki ang tulong ng sports sa ating mga komunidad, lalo na sa pagdevelop ng ating kabataan.”

“Malaki ang tulong ng sports sa ating mga komunidad, lalo na sa pagdevelop ng ating kabataan. They are taught values of discipline and hard work. At the same time, we are complementing our efforts of keeping them away from illegal drugs and crime, and making them productive citizens of our country,” the lawmaker explained.

“As Chair of the Senate Committee on Sports, I reiterate my firm commitment to push for long-term and grassroots sports development,” the senator added.

The project, which was funded through the support of Go as Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, is anticipated to serve as a venue for holding different sports activities for the community.

“This sports complex will be a wonderful asset to the community of Siniloan and will serve as a symbol of our commitment to sports, and the health and well-being of our residents,” he said.

Go then urged the youth of Siniloan to engage in sports instead of indulging in vices such as illegal drugs.

A staunch advocate of sports development in the country, he authored and co-sponsored Republic Act No. 11470, establishing the National Academy of Sports (NAS) in 2020.

The said law is in line with Go’s vision of providing a dedicated learning facility where promising young athletes can further hone their talents while getting quality education.

The NAS Main Campus is located at the New Clark City Sports Complex in Capas, Tarlac.

The academy is equipped with world-class sports facilities, housing and other amenities on par with international standards. Sufficient number of classrooms and other facilities have also been built at the complex to provide a conducive learning environment for all the students.

As one of his priority measures in the 19th Congress, he also filed Senate Bill No. 423, or the proposed Philippine National Games Act of 2022, to provide a structure for a more comprehensive national sports program, linking grassroots sports promotion to national sports development.

Meanwhile, Go also urged residents in need of medical care to visit any of the two Malasakit Centers in the province, including the nearest one at Laguna Medical Center in Santa Cruz or at San Pablo City General Hospital in San Pablo City. Currently, there are 154 Malasakit Centers nationwide that are ready to assist Filipinos with their medical expenses.

Underscoring the importance of improving access to quality healthcare services, he principally authored and sponsored the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019 to give particularly poor and indigent patients convenient access to medical assistance programs offered by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Health, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.

Go also continues to push for the establishment of more Super Health Centers nationwide to ensure that more Filipinos will be able to access quality and affordable basic health services.

In Laguna, Super Health Centers will be established in the cities of Biñan, Cabuyao, San Pedro, Calamba and Sta. Rosa; and the towns of Alaminos and Mabitac.

In Laguna, Super Health Centers will be established in the cities of Biñan, Cabuyao, San Pedro, Calamba and Sta. Rosa; and the towns of Alaminos and Mabitac. The DOH plans to build more in other strategic areas in the succeeding years.

Services in the Super Health Centers include database management, out-patient, birthing, isolation, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory: x-ray, ultrasound), pharmacy and ambulatory surgical unit. Other available services are eye, ear, nose, and throat (EENT) service, oncology centers, physical therapy and rehabilitation center and telemedicine, where remote diagnosis and treatment of patients will be done.

An adopted son of CALABARZON, Go then gave recognition to all of the local officials who have been working hard and exerting great efforts to ensure that no constituent is left behind towards recovery.

As part of his efforts to help the province progress amid present challenges, Go likewise supported the construction of multipurpose buildings in Cavinti, Liliw, Lumban, Majayjay, Pagsanjan, Pila, Sta. Cruz and Sta. Maria; construction of slaughterhouses in Mabitac, Nagcarlan and Pagsanjan; and construction of public markets in Liliw, Nagcarlan, Pagsanjan and Rizal.

Other projects Go supported were the construction of a farm-to-market road and a multipurpose covered court in Paete, construction of a drainage canal in Cabuyao City, repair of the primary road inside Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa City, and installation of street lights in Lumban and Magdalena.

“Again, I want to thank everyone who has been involved in making this project a reality. This is truly a community effort, and I am proud to be a part of it,” he concluded.
