The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed a farm-to-market road (FMR) that now aids farmers in Baranggay Kabalantian, Arakan, North Cotabato.
Based on the report of DPWH Regional Office 12 Director Basir Ibrahim to Secretary Manuel Bonoan, the completed 2.7-kilometer, 4-lane road is now beneficial to locals, especially the farmers of rubber, coconut, banana, corn, and other vegetables in the area.
“The newly-paved FMR project will facilitate better accessibility and trade of agricultural products, as well as maintain peace and order in the area.”
“The newly-paved FMR project will facilitate better accessibility and trade of agricultural products, as well as maintain peace and order in the area as stationed uniformed personnel have better access to ensure internal security of the community,” Ibrahim added.
The road concreting project in Baranggay Kabalantian is part of the 23.6-kilometer Puntian-Arakan Road, which started in 2016.
The project aimed to strengthen interregional connectivity between Northern, Southern and Central Mindanao Regions.
