Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation (Bacolod) Inc. (JBLCF-B) for the Provincial Government’s Maritime Scholarship at the JBLCF-B Audio-Visual Room, in Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod City.
Lacson said the Provincial Government will continue to implement a program for scholars taking up maritime education.
“This is a significant step towards our goal of making education accessible, especially to the less privileged but deserving Negrense students.”

He lauded the scholars and expressed his gratitude to the valued manning partners for their support and cooperation.

Lacson also thanked the parents for their unwavering support to their children and acknowledged Negros Occidental Scholarship Program head Karen Dinsay for her dynamic and committed dedication to the development of the Negrense learners.
30 qualified students were granted scholarship on a “Study Now, Pay Later” scheme at JBLCF-B who must complete their academic requirements for the degree Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation and Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering.
Present during the MOA signing were JBLCF-B Administrator, Engr. Sylvino Tupas, Fukujin Kisen Co. Ltd. (Manila Office) CEO, Capt. Achilles Cuadra Jr., Misuga Management Services, Inc. Crew Training and Career Development Manager, Oliver Q. Velasco, and Briese Schiffahrt Philippines, Inc. President Josephine Evangelio.
Dinsay and the parents of the scholars also witnessed the MOA signing.
The maritime scholarship is a tripartite undertaking of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, JBLCF, and manning companies: Fukujin Kisen Co., Ltd., Misuga Management Services, Inc., and Briese Schiffahrt Philippines.
