The Metro Manila Council (MMC) has ordered the enforcement of an 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. curfew while the National Capital Region (NCR) remains under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos said the adjustment in curfew hours was approved unanimously by the 17 Metro Manila mayors following the rising number of COVID-19 Delta variant cases in the NCR.

MMDA Resolution No. 21-16, Series of 2021 cited that “in view of the ECQ, as warranted by the rising number of COVID-19 Delta Variant cases in the NCR, there is an urgent need to regulate the mobility and movement of persons while at the same time ramping up the vaccination efforts of the National Government and the Local Government Units during the said period in order to broaden population protection.”

Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR), as specified by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and individuals who will be vaccinated shall be exempted from the curfew hours provided that they present appropriate documentation to authorities, such as their quarantine passes used during previous ECQ.
The MMDA chief, meanwhile, leaves it to the Metro Manila local government units to decide on the imposition of a liquor ban in their respective jurisdictions.
The local governments of Valenzuela, Mandaluyong, Parañaque, Pasay, Navotas, Pateros, Quezon City, and San Juan earlier announced the enforcement of liquor bans during the ECQ.
The Metro Manila Council, composed of the 17 local government units of Metro Manila, is the governing body and policy-making body of the MMDA.
