“There’s no place like home.”
This according to NCAA Season 93 Juniors MVP Will Gozum, who will be reunited with his former UPIS teammates brothers Juan and Javi Gomez de Liano.
The 18-year-old, 6-foot-6 Gozum, who averaged 13.2 points, 10 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks in his final year with the Mapua Red Robins, will definitely and immediately make a mark for the championship-chasing state university.
This is very good news, not only for the team but, also, for the entire UP community.
“I believe in the rebuilding program of the UP Men’s Basketball Team, I miss playing alongside my former teammates Juan and Javi whose family is very close to mine and, of course, there is no question about the academic excellence of the school,” enumerated Gozum as among the many reasons why he chose to become a Fighting Maroon again.
For his part, UP Head Coach Bo Perasol said, “This is very good news, not only for the team but, also, for the entire UP community. As you can see, we are doing everything we can to get to the top, one small step at a time. With Will joining us, we hope to get there faster.”
Truly, there is nowhere to go but up for the state university as it continues its exciting journey from dwelling way too long in the cellars to becoming a legitimate final four contender in UAAP Season 81 and beyond.
