The municipality of Kiangan in Ifugao has already vaccinated more than half of its target population, attributing the accomplishment to the conduct of home vaccination.
Kiangan Mayor Raldis Andrei Bulayungan said they did home vaccination when visits have been allowed.
“We brought the vaccination to the grassroots which is a program to bring government programs closer to the people,” Bulayungan stressed.
The mayor said talking and explaining to the residents the benefits of vaccination also contributed in the town’s vaccination accomplishment.
“Nakakatulong din ang personal visits sa barangays explaining to them the benefits of vaccination.”

As of November 6, the town has also given the first dose of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine to 460 pediatric clients.
Bulayungan said they have targeted at least 1,957 of the adolescent population.
He said they are glad that they are nearing the target herd immunity but they still need to double the effort.
