The biggest, most popular and the widely supported and anticipated Holiday Metro Manila Film Festival kicks off its 49th season with a record high of scripts submission.
A total of 26 entries from 32 production companies were submitted for consideration.
The esteemed members of the Selection Committee headed by respected producer and industry stalwart of the film industry Jesse Ejercito will choose the Top 4 scripts based on the following criteria: Artistic Excellence – 40%, Commercial Appeal – 40%, Filipino Cultural Sensibility – 10% and Global Appeal – 10%.
With this, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and MMFF concurrent Acting Chairman Atty. Don Artes expressed his gratitude to local filmmakers for submitting their entries.

“Thank you to our filmmakers who submitted their script entries and for supporting the 49th MMFF. I am sure our selection committee will have a hard time choosing among the scripts. But I am also confident that the best among the best will be chosen,” Artes said.
The deadline for the finished film submission (where the other 4 official MMFF entries shall be chosen) will be on September 29.
The traffic chief also urged the public to support the festival, which has been a big part of the Christmas tradition of many Filipino families.
