The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) together with the local government of Marikina City, led the groundbreaking ceremony for the Rehabilitation and Improvement of the Recreational Park located in Brgy. Jesus Dela Peña in Marikina City.
According to MMDA Acting Chairman Atty. Don Artes, the rehabilitation and improvement of the park was first proposed by Congresswoman Maan Teodoro to provide a public space for their constituents.

“The goal of redeveloping parks is to curb urban decay and reduce urban heat effects as well as to provide safe and clean areas for family events and wellness activities.” said Artes, as he commits to continually build and develop parks in open spaces in Metro Manila for the public to enjoy.
The pocket park has an area of 1,133.21 square meters. The park will feature landscaping works and urban greening, concrete benches with roof sheds, playsets and outdoor gym, and a two-story burial chapel.

The target completion of the construction of the recreational park is in December.
