In the spirit of Christmas, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), together with the ride-hailing companies Angkas and Joyride Philippines gave away grocery packs to motorcycle riders at two locations in Quezon City.
The activity was led by MMDA Acting Chairman Atty. Don Artes, Assistant General Manager for Operations Assistant David Angelo Vargas, Traffic Discipline Office Director for Enforcement Atty. Victor Nuñez, Special Operations Group-Strike Force Officer-in-Charge Gabriel Go and representatives from Angkas and Joyride PH.
“The activity is part of the MMDA’s ticket or treat project.”
According to Artes, the activity is part of the agency’s “ticket or treat” project which aims to give back to disciplined motorcycle riders who follow traffic laws and regulations.
“We will apprehend riders who are violating traffic rules and regulations but we will also give them grocery packages for the Christmas season,” he said.
1 Rider Partylist Representatives Bonifacio Bosita and Rodge Gutierrez were also present at the gift-giving activity and showed support for the agency’s project in ensuring the safety of motorcycle riders especially this holiday season.
“We are in support of MMDA’s strict implementation of the traffic rules and regulations,” Bosita said.
“The increase in the number of passengers going in and out of Metro Manila would be on December 22 onwards.”

With this, the agency, together with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Philippine National Police (PNP), Land Transportation Office (LTO) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will inspect bus terminals to ensure the safety of passengers this holiday season.
