The deployment followed after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed all government agencies to prioritize delivering supplies of drinking water to the typhoon victims in the province.
The team brought with them 40 units of portable water purification systems, which have the capacity of filtering 180 gallons of water per hour, and some materials for road clearing operations.
They have been tasked to coordinate with the 6th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army and stay in Maguindanao province for a period of 15 days.
Severe tropical storm Paeng brought heavy rains and strong winds that affected thousands of people in Maguindanao and other parts of the country.
