MISS MASSKARA CANDIDATES SHOWCASE COSTUMES

Fifteen stunning candidates for Miss Bacolod Masskara showcased their vibrant festival costumes during the Festival Costume Competition held at Ayala Malls Capitol Central.

These elaborate costumes symbolized the key projects and programs of Bacolod City under the administration of Mayor Albee Benitez.

Each costume creatively reflected the city’s ongoing developments, which include the Bacolod Museum, Bacolod Coliseum and Bacolod City Eco Tree Park.

Additional highlights were the renovation of Bacolod Public Plaza Fountain, the “Isugid kay Mayor” Program, BacCHP, Bacolod Command Center, and projects like the Old Bacolod City Hall and Legislative Building. Other important projects, including the Yuhum Housing, Bacolod City Health Complex, E-Jeep, Manokan Country Development Project, Multipurpose Building with Skatepark, and the Bacolod Integrated Recycling and Technology Hub (BIRTH), were also represented in the candidates’ costumes.

In his speech, Benitez expressed pride in both the people and the projects of Bacolod.

“Hopefully you will see that the beauty of Bacolod is within us all.”

“Indi gid ko matingala nga damo gwapahon diri because I know for a fact that Bacolod City is home sang mga matahom nga mga pumuluyo and that is because we’re always smiling… and now, we’ll be showcasing man ang aton mga matahom nga mga proyekto, mga programa nga gintukod naton sa sini nga administrasyon. It will be something that we are also proud of. It has been incorporated sa ila nga costumes. Sang first ko ni nakita daw matahom man sang idea nga ang mga proyekto gin incorporate sa costume, lain nmn nga pag presentar sang aton nga mga programa and hopefully you will see that the beauty of Bacolod is within us all.”

Attendees at the event included Councilors Celia Flor and Jason Villarosa, Ayala Malls Capitol Central General Manager Sharon Ciocon, and Bacolod MassKara Festival Chairman Jojie Dingcong.

The Miss Bacolod MassKara is not only a celebration of beauty but also a proud testament to the progress and future of Bacolod City, as represented through these dynamic costumes.

The 45th MassKara Festival is a16-day celebration that opened last October 12.

“MassKara Festival was the very first biggest celebration staged in the country right after the Covid-19 pandemic in 2022,” the mayor explained.

“Since then, it continues to be the festival of choice in the Philippines,” Benitez added as he officially opened the festival.
