DAVAO CITY – The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) commemorated its 15th founding anniversary on Monday with a strong commitment to advancing the island’s economic progress and sustainable development.
Addressing MinDA employees during the celebration, Secretary Leo Tereso Magno reflected on the agency’s achievements over the past 15 years while setting an ambitious vision for the future.
“We are about to launch something that I hope will define the future of Mindanao. It’s time for us to move forward together—to help and uplift one another, and to be the wind beneath each other’s wings,” Magno said.
Magno also noted a surge of interest in Mindanao’s development, both from international stakeholders and domestic investors.
“In the past few months, I have never seen this level of enthusiasm—people who share our vision for Mindanao’s growth,” he said. He further emphasized the importance of economic progress in improving the lives of Mindanawon families.
“Families here should have stable access to sufficient and nutritious food—not just three meals a day, but true food security,” Magno added.
As MinDA moves forward, Magno called for unity and collective action to sustain the momentum of development initiatives across Mindanao.
The anniversary celebration, held at the BIMP-EAGA Hall in MinDA’s Bajada office, featured the oath-taking of newly appointed and promoted employees, as well as the awarding of loyalty citations to long-serving staff. Magno urged MinDA personnel to remain steadfast in their mission of building a stronger, more prosperous Mindanao.
