After Senator Manny Pacquiao’s convincing victory over challenger Adrian Broner, world champ Floyd Mayweather should now fight the people’s champ at the Philippine Arena, said Quezon City 2nd District Rep. Winnie Castelo.
“After all, Pacquiao succeeded in meeting the condition for his rematch with Floyd and that is to get past Broner,” Castelo said.
“In fact, he more than got past Broner, Pacquiao showed the world he still got the speed and skills in boxing despite his age,” the lawmaker added.
Pacquiao has been longing for another fight with Floyd after his defeat to the latter in a fight many Filipinos thought was unfairly decided years ago.
“So there are no more excuses for Floyd to decline Manny’s offer for a rematch,” said Castelo.

In a bid to earn a rematch, Pacquiao took on many opponents in the succeeding fights and won, the latest of which is his triumph over Broner.
“Whether Floyd likes it or not, he has to fight Manny because the stage is set for the fight that will truly show who deserves to be called the real world champ,” Castelo said.
“It is only fitting to hold the rematch at the Philippine Arena, the world’s largest indoor arena with a seating capacity of 55,000 where avid boxing fans in the international community may be accommodated,” Castelo added.
