President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., together with Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel Bonoan, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon, Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC) Chairman Manny Pangilinan, and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) President and Chief Executive Officer Jose Ma. Lim, led the inspection of CALAX Governor’s Drive Interchange in Silang, Cavite recently.
To ease traffic congestion along key routes in Cavite, the 8.64-kilometer Subsection 3 of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), which includes the Governor’s Drive Interchange, is now 44 percent complete.

Once finished, Subsection 3, which connects to the Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange, will become the longest operational segment of CALAX.

To date, a total of 17.4 kilometers has finished construction and is fully operational, including four interchanges and one toll barrier in Laguna and Cavite.
“CALAX now caters an average daily traffic of 45,000 vehicles and is expected to increase to 90,000 upon realization of the remaining sections,” Bonoan said.
Others present in the inspection are Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla, DPWH Undersecretary Maria Catalina Cabral, DPWH Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Service Director Pelita Galvez, Cavite Governor Althea Tolentino, Cavite 6th District Representative Antonio Ferrer, General Trias Mayor Luis Jon-Jon Ferrer IV, and Metro Pacific Tollways South Officer-in-Charge Elnora Rumawak.
