Grades 1 to 3 students will each get a Japanese-style randoseru (backpack), while those in Grades 4 to 12 will receive a three-way bag, designed to be carried three ways.
Public school students from kindergarten to senior high school will get the newly launched sneakers.
The city government already distributed the 3.0 version of the sneakers to 93,110 pupils in 2020 before the pandemic halted physical classes.
About 90,000 received the 2.0 sneakers in 2019 and 89,862 got the first version.
“The pairs of shoes are of high quality.”
“The provision of school apparel and sneakers is aimed at boosting their morale,” Binay said during the ceremony shared online, adding that the pairs of shoes are of high quality.
The city government also held a ceremonial turnover of prisoner vans, patrol vehicles, and food carts at the city hall.
