The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) turned-over to the Lung Center of the Philippines, an additional modular hospital that will be used to augment the existing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) isolation facilities of the center.
DPWH Secretary and Isolation Czar Mark Villar said that the newly-completed isolation facility in Quezon City is intended for moderate to severe cases.
“We will continue to push for the completion of more health facilities nationwide although we are seeing a drop in COVID-19 cases recently,” Villar said.
The turn-over ceremony of the pop-up hospital was held recently and was led by DPWH Undersecretary Emil Sadain representing the public works chief.
“The modular hospital has eight rooms with two hospital beds per room to accommodate 16 patients.”
According to Sadain, head of DPWH Task Force to Facilitate Augmentation of Local and National Health Facilities, the modular hospital was built to ensure enough infrastructure support to the Lung Center as it has eight rooms with two hospital beds per room to accommodate 16 patients.
Each room is fully airconditioned equipped with a separate bathroom to tend to the needs and the comfort of healing patients.
The modular hospital has an exhaust and fresh air blower with hepa filter, emergency lighting, separate tanks for water supply, and built with a wide ramp for ease of patients.
