LACSON, NU BACOLOD SIGN PACT FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson signed a Memorandum of Agreement with National University (NU) Bacolod, represented by NU Philippines president and CEO Dr. Renato Carlos Ermita, Jr., for the implementation of AMLIG or Accelerating the Mission of Learning and Inclusive Growth Scholarship.

The ceremonial signing was held at the NU Bacolod Campus in the presence of Negros Occidental Board Member Rita Gatuslao, chairman of the SP Committee on Education; NU Bacolod Academic Director Ryan Joy Dizon; and Negros Occ. Scholarship Program Head Karen Dinsay.

The scholarship program aims to provide a college education to deserving first-year students who are interested in pursuing a four-year course at the institution.

Lacson said that the AMLIG scholarship is more than a formal partnership with NU Bacolod; it is proof of the shared vision of empowering young Negrenses through education.

“Through this partnership, we are not only opening doors to higher education but also paving the way for a brighter future for our youth.”

“Through this partnership, we are not only opening doors to higher education but also paving the way for a brighter future for our youth, particularly those in the countryside who might otherwise have limited access to such opportunities,” the governor said.

“This initiative ensures that financial limitations do not hinder deserving students from earning a college degree,” he concluded.
