KOICA TO ASSIST MORE EASTERN SAMAR PROJECTS

KOICA or Korea International Cooperation Agency continues to help Eastern Samar with the establishment of the new hospital in Guiuan, Eastern Samar, the Felipe Abrigo Memorial Hospital.

KOICA Country Director Kim Eun Sub delivered the good news to Gov. Ben Evardone that a new project in Eastern Samar with Borongan City has emerged, the Philippine Climate Resilient Cities.

The Country Director also noted that amongst the provinces that KOICA is helping, Eastern Samar is very much cooperative.

“Eastern Samar is the most eager and has very strong willingness to collaborate.”

“We are more than happy, you did not give up and – you continue this project and I’m very very happy and thankful,” Evardone said.

The governor responded and expressed his gratitude to KOICA, despite the challenges faced in the construction of the Felipe Abrigo Memorial Hospital.

The Felipe Abrigo Memorial Hospital will be inaugurated this October 2024.



The Felipe Abrigo Memorial Hospital will be inaugurated this October 2024 for its infirmary’s initial operation.

KOICA is providing the funding of the hospital equipment and will also be conducting capacity building for the medical professionals of the said hospital in preparation for the full operation.
