‘KADIWA NG PASKO’ CONTINUES AFTER HOLIDAYS

The Kadiwa ng Pasko will carry on even after the holidays to serve Filipino food producers and consumers nationwide.

President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., confirmed this during the opening of the Kadiwa site in Valenzuela City recently.

“From the 20 stalls initially opened, there are now 350 Kadiwa sites nationwide providing quality, safe and affordable produce.”

In his message, the President stressed that the Kadiwa ng Pasko, as a marketing initiative of the government, will continue to assist the Filipino people even after the busiest season of the year.

“Kahit na matapos na ang Pasko, ipapagpatuloy po natin ito para merong pagkukuhanan ang ating kababayan ng mas murang bilihin.”

“Ito pong Kadiwa ng Pasko ay ang aming munting pagtulong para naman ay maging mas masaya ang ating Pasko itong taon na ito,” Marcos added.

Sales for the Valenzuela City Kadiwa reached P334,570 for rice, lowland and highland vegetables, as well as other food essentials.

Other sellers, who participated, are Agripreneur Farmers & Producers Association, Sugar Regulatory Administration, San Jose Matulid United Farmers Association, Rural Finance Club Cooperative, Brgy Atbu Women’s Association, Bicol Agripreneur Food Products, Binukawan-Bicol Marketing Cooperative, Mama Agnes Enterprises L. Sanchez Farm, IsDA on the Go and Global Essentials.

With its success and huge impact, the 2022 Year End Poll of PUBLiCUS Asia Inc. cites the Kadiwa ng Pasko as the most approved program of the government in the 4th quarter of the year.

The national caravan, being undertaken with the support of other national government agencies including the Departments of Trade (DTI), Social Welfare (DSWD), and Labor (DOLE), provides access to basic goods at low price.

Kadiwa is the brainchild of the Department of Agriculture, established to provide urban residents with fresh food items at lower prices.

It also gives food producers an opportunity to be agri-preneurs and directly sell their fresh harvests.
