The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), through its designated consulting firm IC Net Ltd, has recently started a survey for the improvement of Japan’s technical intern training program (TITP).
The survey is in relation to Japan’s overseas development assistance (ODA) program aiming to provide support for the preparation, execution and follow-up of the TITP for foreign workers from six ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) members, the Philippines included.
TITP aims to contribute to the invigoration of several industries through technical internships in Japan.
The TITP aims to contribute to the invigoration of several industries, starting with the agriculture industry through technical internships in Japan.
The survey activities in the Philippines included a visit by JICA/IC Net representatives to officers and trustees of two recognized manpower organizations specializing in Japan manpower placement program: Association of Philippine Licensed Agencies for Technical Internship Training Program (APLATIP) and the Japan Employment Providers of the Philippines & Consultants’ Association (JEPPCA).
During the meetings, discussions were held not only on the current state of the program, but also on issues about the dispatching of technical interns, and the possible support from JICA for the reintegration programs for returning technical interns from Japan.
Earlier this week, the IC Net representative also had a chance to speak with some selected candidates who are about to complete their Japanese language training, in preparation for their deployment to Japan as technical interns under the TITP.
APLATIP and JEPPCA are member-organizations of ABROAD (Alliance of Bonafide Recruiters for OFWs’ Advancement and Development), a coalition of placement and recruitment agency organizations.
