ISABELA GOV’T GIVES 122 TOBACCO FARMERS CASH AID

The Provincial Government of Isabela provided financial assistance totaling P2.4 million to 122 tobacco farmers in San Mariano and Benito Soliven. 

The cash aid was distributed to the tobacco farmers across two municipalities on a pro-rata basis, according to farm size (P25,000 per hectare) and production volume (P5.00 per kilo produced).

The fund was sourced from the province’s share of the tobacco excise tax 

During the program, Governor Rodito Albano highlighted the unity among Isabeleños, which had earned the province respect from other government officials outside Isabela.

“Masaya tayong lahat. Isang pamilya lang tayo. Tayo ay nagkakasundo. Tinitingala tayo sa Maynila dahil sa ating samahan. Iyan ay dahil sa inyo–kayo ang mga bayani,” Albano said.

“We plan to purchase a machine in Europe that will be used to create fortified rice, addressing micronutrient deficiency in our province.”

Joining him were Echague Municipal Mayor Kiko Dy, representing Vice Governor Bojie Dy, along with San Mariano Mayor Edgar Go, Benito Soliven Mayor Roberto Lungan, and other local officials.
