ILIGAN STUDENTS GET NEW CLASSROOMS

A newly-constructed two-storey school building by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) benefitted an estimated number of 160 students in Tipanoy Elementary School, Iligan City, Lanao del Norte.

Based on a report received by Secretary Manuel Bonoan from DPWH Region 10 Director Zenaida Tan, the new school building was designed to have four spacious classrooms, enough to provide primary education students a conducive environment for learning.

With a total floor area of 437 square meters, the project involves the provision of comfort rooms, an accessibility ramp, a septic vault, electrical works, and safety features such as a fire alarm system, fire extinguishers, and a closed-circuit television (CCTV).

“Construction of the school building was finished in March.”

“Construction of the school building was finished in March and was ready to accommodate the influx of students at the time classes started this July 29,” Tan stressed.

Implemented by DPWH Iligan City District Engineering Office, the project received a budget allocation of ₱12.83 million from the Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF) in the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
