IESHIKAWA 19 BLENDS NATURE AND DESIGN

This year, UP CIEM presents IEshikawa 19 – APIS: The Harmony of Nature and Design. Scheduled for February 21-22, 2025, its 19th installment seeks to delve into the cycle where ergonomic principles align with sustainable practices, creating a world that prioritizes redefining processes, waste reduction, workspace utilization and well-being for a better future.

IEshikawa is an annual nationwide Industrial Engineering event offered by University of the Philippines Circle of Industrial Engineering Majors (UP CIEM). Serving as an alternative avenue for continuous growth and learning, IEshikawa aims to harness the knowledge and aptitudes of Industrial Engineering students and apply these skills to provide service to the community. Over the years, this event has consistently produced high-quality event programs and workshops that showcase and promote the true spirit of Industrial Engineering.

This installment promises an immersive journey of curated talks, workshops, competitions, and career fair! The following are its four major events:

  1. The 𝙄𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙚: 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, in partnership with 𝗔.𝗣. 𝗠𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿 – 𝗠𝗮𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗸, aims to provide the Industrial Engineering students an opportunity to showcase their skills, knowledge of IE concepts, and application abilities.

  1. The 𝙄𝙀𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙚: 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻, in partnership with 𝗔𝘀𝗸 𝗟𝗲𝘅 𝗣𝗛 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆, strives to test the creativity and wit of the participants by proposing designs in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
  1. The 𝙄𝙀𝙭𝙘𝙚𝙡: 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝘇 𝗕𝗲𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, in partnership with 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗰., tests participants’ knowledge of IE concepts, critical thinking, and problem solving skills with a strategic twist.

  1. The 𝙄𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚: 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, with the help of 𝗜𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝗜𝗘 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, selects a lucky few to have an opportunity to serve and represent the Industrial Engineering community, offering a behind-the-scenes look and an exclusive leadership workshop.
