Former Special Assistant to the President Bong Go has vowed to push for an increase in the salaries of public school teachers if given a Senate seat.
“The increase of the salaries of teachers was already promised by the President during the convention of school principals in Davao City,” Go said as he recalled President Rodrigo Duterte’s commitment to gradually increase the salary of the public school teachers.
Teachers, the former presidential assistant said, sacrifice a lot to be able to provide students better education, and are equally important to public service.
Go said he will remind the President about the matter.
“If given a chance to be elected as senator, I will be your bridge to the President,” Go stressed.

The former presidential aide, meanwhile, said teachers will have to wait for the completion of the four-year Salary Standardization Law in 2019.
“Let us just wait for 2019. But as of this time, let me know if there is anything I can help you with and I will relay it to the President,” Go said.
