HERBOSA MEETS PINOY HEALTH WORKERS IN CDC VISIT

The Philippine delegation, led by Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Ted Herbosa, met with Filipino personnel of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia recently.

The gathering was hosted by the Task Force for Global Health, an independent non-governmental organization based in Atlanta, Georgia.

“It is imperative that we check on our fellow Filipinos at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.”

“It is imperative that we check on our fellow Filipinos at the CDC as aligned in the Department’s 7th Action Agenda, ‘Kapakanan at Karapatan ng health workers’, fortifying our objective to institutionalize competency standards of health workers across all relevant sectors,” Herbosa said.

The social gathering, attended and opened by Dr. Nancy Knight from the Task Force for Global Health and Dr. Charlene Wong from the CDC, led to a fruitful discussion with the Philippine delegation.

“This congregation is also a good avenue to forge partnerships that catalyze our actions in achieving the same goals of a Bagong Pilipinas kung saan Bawat Buhay Mahalaga,” the health chief concluded.
