Following the directions of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to reduce tuberculosis cases in the country, Health Secretary Teddy Herbosa vowed to implement targeted interventions to reach every corner of the nation to ensure that the most vulnerable are not left alone to suffer in silence.
Herbosa stressed that the responsibility of treating TB does not lie solely with our healthcare workers.

The health chief added that no one should be left behind and utmost attention should be focus on the most vulnerable populations like the marginalized, impoverished and underserved members of the community.

“The fight against TB requires our unwavering commitment, collective effort and solidarity. It is time to come together and declare a united stand to end TB in the Philippines dahil sa Healthy Pilipinas bawat buhay mahalaga,” he added.
The Race to End TB Annual Awards is an event to highlight and recognize the efforts of hospitals, centers for health development, among others – that aid in the goal of eliminating tuberculosis in the country.
