GORDON WELCOMES RC143 LEADERS FROM LAGUNA

Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Chairman and CEO Dick Gordon and Secretary-General Dr. Gwen Pang recently welcomed RC143 chairpersons from Laguna’s 24 municipalities and six cities who paid a courtesy call at the PRC National Headquarters in Mandaluyong. 

Gordon and Pang discussed PRC’s innovations and upgrades of its humanitarian assistance, such as solar-powered houses, improved blood collection and distribution strategies, assets and logistics, and the importance of having a first aider in every home.

Gordon also touched on matters related to malnutrition, its impact on the education of Filipino children, and its implications on the future generation of leaders.

The chairpersons are tasked to train and oversee the RC143 volunteers in their respective municipalities. 

RC143 is PRC’s system for training barangay-based volunteers on preparedness, response, and assessment of damages and needs after any hazard event, such as a medical emergency, a natural hazard, or a human-induced hazard.
