GORDON WELCOMES 5,000 PRC VOLUNTEERS FROM QC

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC), through its Quezon City Chapter, welcomed over 5,000 volunteers from QC, including students and the elderly.

The mass oath taking ceremony coincided with the celebration of the 77th founding anniversary of the Philippine Red Cross recently. 

The ceremony was led by PRC Chairman and CEO Dick Gordon, PRC Secretary-General Dr. Gwen Pang, as well as members of the PRC Quezon City Chapter Board of Directors, its Chairman and PRC Governor Nesty Isla and Chapter Administrator Janice Adolfo.

They were joined by Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, former House Speaker Sonny Belmonte, QC Vice Mayor Gian Carlo Sotto, and various representatives from the local government.

During the program, Gordon underscored the importance of having trained first aiders in every home, school, and RC143 volunteers in every community.

“We foster self-reliance in communities every time we train a first aider and recruit an RC143 volunteer.”

Addressing the youth volunteers, he also encouraged them to recognize their capacity to serve their communities.

“Everyone of us can serve the country wherever we are.”

“Everyone of us can serve the country wherever we are. We can serve the country as ordinary citizens or, in your case, as a youth volunteers. I want you to be part of our mission of saving lives,” Gordon concluded.
