The spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork was on full display at the grand opening ceremony of the Davao de Oro Provincial Athletic Association Meet 2025 in Maragusan Municipal Sports Complex.
Athletes, coaches, and officials from all eleven municipalities marched together, uniting the province in a celebration of athleticism.
“Sports is important in fostering unity and community development.”
The event was graced by Governor Dorothy Gonzaga, Regional Sports Director Alim Maguindanao, Congressman Ruwel Peter Gonzaga, OIC Schools Division Superintendent Phoebe Gay Refamonte, Mayor Angelito Cabalquinto of Maragusan, and other officials, demonstrating strong community support for the #DDOPPAMeet2025.
Gonzaga expressed her pride in the athletes and emphasized the importance of sports in fostering unity and community development.
“The event not only celebrates the skills and talents of young athletes but also the values of discipline, respect, and perseverance that sports instill in our lives,” the lady governor stressed.
The DdOPAA Meet featured a variety of sporting events, including athletics, basketball, volleyball, and swimming, with participants competing for top honors.
