“The fundamental aim of the BPE program is to aid financially disadvantaged students in their educational pursuits,” the governor said.
“Education is the only thing that you can earn and no one can steal,” he stressed.
Evardone has continuously made ways to look for funding to provide scholarships to the Estehanons. His effort includes, reaching out to corporations, companies, individuals and even hosting a golf cup that earned P2 million pesos last 2023.
For the homecoming event, Evardone invited ACT-CIS Party-list Representative Erwin Tulfo as guest speaker.
Tulfo also emphasized the significance of education as an invaluable asset and a key to a brighter future.
“Bahala na si Gov. Ben Evardone, may ibababa po ako na P5 million for pasukan.”
The legislator pledged to give P5 million to help more Estehanons.
“I’m happy to inform everyone here, May or June ay nagpababa ang aking opisina ng Educational Assistance o tinatawag na Assistance for Individual in Crisis Situation from DSWD, bahala na si Gov. Ben Evardone, may ibababa po ako na P5 million for pasukan,” the lawmaker said.
Among the current 435 beneficiaries, 234 received assistance for their review for a board examination amounting to P5,000 each.
“Doon po sa mga graduates ngayon na kailangan mag board exam o bar exam, nag-file na po ako ng isang bill, ‘yung party list po naming, last year. In this bill the government will pay for the review of scholars or children of people who are indigent -mga taga probinsya, mga anak ng OFW, mga mahihirap kung ang magulang niya ay hindi umaabot sa minimum ang sweldo, ikaw mismo kailangan mo mag review,” he explained.
“We already filed the bill at ang bill na ito po ay babayaran ng gobyerno, ano mang kurso mo abogado, doctor, teacher, engineer kung ano paman ‘yan ay sasagutin po ‘yan ng gobyerno ang unang review mo,” Tulfo concluded.
